Ghent city council recently launched a project for the long-term unemployed. This involves the renovation of ‘De Barge’, a boat dating back to 1623. As co-sponsor, Decolvenaere has supplied part of the wood for the hull. Twenty cubic metres of iroko and sipo have been provided. When it is finished, the boat will be used as a promotional platform for the Ghent Port Authority.
