 By 1973, the start-up of the saw mills in Cameroon was complete. Hilaire’s three sons had joined the team. Guy and Marc look after the sales part of the business, while Freddy is responsible for the financial department. Ernest’s son Christiaan Decolvenaere is active in Ghent. The two companies, based in Ghent and Cameroon, now function independently and in a complementary fashion. The Decolvenaere saw mill has been based at its present location in the Port of Ghent since 1985. Decolvenaere currently has two hectares of land for stacking trunks, three and a half hectares of sheds for the stock of sawn/squared timber and finally a considerable number of drying rooms.
